Say cheese! Yes today is National camera day. June 29th of every year is celebrated as National camera day. It is a day to celebrate photography which has now become a part in our daily life, but once it took really a hell out the scientist to invent this mysterious machine. It was a beautiful story that goes back 800 years ago where they invented the so-called camera ‘obscura’. This means ‘dark chamber’. The camera obscura was nothing but a box with a hole on one of the sides and the light passes through this hole into the dark interior of the box, where it would project an image onto the flat inner surface. But this doesn’t last long as the image goes away when the light is switched off. However, this gave a kick start to the invention of today’s modern professional cameras.
The first modern photography was taken in the year 1827 by Nicéphore Niépce, a French inventor. But the instrument he used to take picture took almost eight hours of time to expose the entire image. This laid a great path for scientists to develop the camera. Later, many scientists contributed to this invention and developed different kinds of cameras and lenses which paved way for a revolutionary evolution of cameras in the world today. To be blunt, we all have cameras in our mobile phones and we take pictures every day. This was a huge revolution in the past century and this may also evolve and expand in future centuries.
This day is for us to remember the great invention of the past century and we should recall how all these started as we use this invention in our day-to-day life. Mark the date: June 29th of every year is celebrated as the National Camera Days.
